How to choose the right consumables for PE or paper labels?

Thermal labels:

Advantages - often a cheaper option , easier to load into the printer (no need to put TTR tape)

Disadvantages - faster print head deterioration, print fades and turns black in the sun over time. Possible quick damage to the code can be easily defaced with a fingernail)

Suitable for short term prints (e.g. short term tickets).

TTR + labels (paper and plastic):

Advantages - Higher quality sharper print , which does not fade , does not blacken the surrounding paper , printing over foil does not rub off and burn the print head.

Disadvantages - sometimes more expensive and the need to enter extra TTR tape.

Suitable for any kind of printing , cartons, tickets , labelling goods ...

Combination of labels and TTR tape:

thermo = no TTR tape

paper = wax

waxed paper, varnished labels, some jewellery labels, datapol = wax+resin mix

PE(=Polyethylene= plastic), some jewellery = resin

Durability:

Thermo - week to months (transport companies, fast moving goods)

paper (depending on humidity, temperature...) - months to years

PE years (inventory numbers of assets, difficult weather conditions - outdoors, gardening, etc.)
